Photo descriptions flow counterclockwise:
(1) City Hall;
(2-4) Thelma Owens, continue represented, aided and abetted, by 2 consecutive City of Raymond attorneys, in my lawsuits against Hinds County, for illegally installing 2 additional culverts to her parcel. At no time has the county claimed rights to or maintained this dead-end area where these culverts were installed. Her parcel lies East of HSA. Subsequently, my tenant parking lot, before, as shown in the following photo, now exists as in Photos 2 - 4 above, providing trash storage and additional "paved" parking for Ms. Owens, at my expense, on my property.
(5-6) The property of Mr. Thornton, lying North of HSA, commences at the edge of his concreted back yard. His building houses a beauty salon and restaurant. Despite knowing it is illegal to connect wastewater lines for commercial buildings to residential sewage systems, again, the City of Raymond, aided and abated such a connection by Mr. Thornton. Without a permit or my permission, he removed fencing between our properties, graded and dug trenches and relocated his sewage lines underground on my property. He buried the lines; therefore, I am unable to know their exact location. His sewage overflowed. Despite my written and verbal pleas to government officials, sewage (i.e., smelly urine, feces, toilet paper, grease and hair dye, drained downward for over 40 feet, onto my property for approximately two months. During his actions, he damaged and contaminated my freshwater line. See following water flowing from faucet and wastewater backing into the bathroom sink of my apartment # 1. Tenants in what was known to be the affected area, at the time, were evacuated.
(7) This is an excerpt of the City of Raymond's lawsuit against me demanding payment for phony charges for leaks. This battle, including my lawsuits filed against Hinds County, having raged for the past 20 years, was intensified by a recent lawsuit, against me, by the City.They are suing me for $18,000+ for these phony water leaks. The evidence shows an overwhelming likelihood that the city caused these leaks by purposefully disabling their meter or allowing it to remain inoperable for nearly two years.
Suspecting a sham, I did not cooperate. I refused the city's urging that I include such charges in tenant rates. I notified the city, in writing, of my decision to cease any attempt to pay or charge tenants, until, as required by Mississippi law, the city repaired/replaced the meter. I believe these leaks, contrived by interracial and intra-racial motives, formally known as Black Codes, to continually burden me with such extortion and/or set me up for such lawsuits, and to drive me away or force me to forfeit my property for a song. Worse, their lawsuit illegally requests a chancery judge, also a native of Raymond, not an eminent domain judge, to give the City rights to property interests in HSA. A few of the court documents follow.
See Donations Page. Become a friend of Historic Smith Apartments. I am humbly asking for $1 donations. Because such takers tend to prey on descendants of property and business owners, I ask that you help in spreading awareness of my story in the hope that it will help others protect their families.
The following image depicts the City of Raymond Mississippi, as front and/or central in the disenfranchisement of the continuance of my parents' (1) legacy for affordable housing and (2) intentions to pass generational wealth to their descendants. City and Hinds County governmental officials and public works personnel, for the private benefit of their friends or actors, Samuel Thornton and Thelma Owens, continue their illegal attacks upon HSA.
